1. Its impossible to get bullied on a forum. Simply surf away.Originally posted by suityou01 View PostOf late this place has got a little bit nasty imvho. I'm all for the typical CUK robust response, and can laugh at myself, but just lately things have been getting a little out of hand from where I sit. Certain posters.
Am I just a 'bedwetter'? Well perhaps not, judging by the PMs and emails I get from various posters.
So in good ole fashioned CUK I thought I'd put it to the vote.
2. Ever heard of the stiff upper lip? You'd be well advised to cultivate it. We don't want to hear every gushing thought that happens to occur in your little mind.
HTHHard Brexit now!

There is a subtle trap in an abusive situation - and this applies to relationships, work and on-line forums.
The abuse starts off at a level that's "not so bad". What happens then is the abuser starts to escalate. So, little slap becomes a punch. But the abused doesn't look at the action with reference to normality - they compare it with the previous level of abuse. And so they become trapped. Some people are able to compare with normality, but a signficant number of people, it seems, aren't. Their friends and relatives tell them that they're being abused, but they can't see it. They've gone beyond the point where they can "just surf away".
There are people who will quite deliberately set out to entrap people in this way - just for kicks.
I would have thought, however, that most contractors are sufficiently independently minded not to get into such a situation.Down with racism. Long live miscegenation!Comment

Well the point being that forums are different from relationships and work in the real world. You can't escape from the latter that easily if things go wrong but you can go to another forum (or even another part of the forum) if you don't like this one e.g. because its too robust.Originally posted by NotAllThere View PostThere is a subtle trap in an abusive situation - and this applies to relationships, work and on-line forums.
