I remember when avoiding the swear filter like this led to a ban. ahh those were the days, The Faqqer got a ban for something a lot less abusive, as did Churchill.

But nowdays it is ok to name call, abuse and anything else as long as it is directed towards the right people. Makes me glum.

    Ad Hominem indeed.

If it ails you so, just report the post. If you don't like the response of the admins, you will have to leave if you don't like feeling so glum.

ahhhh a very fair and accurate piece of advice. But alas I know that it would have zero effect if I reported those posts. The rules apply to different people to different degrees, and as you say, you have to learn to deal with it if you choose to frequent the board. I choose to frequent the board so I just need to be glum....

Unlike some others I dont take the banter on here very seriously at all. The main people I 'dont like' (all relative) on here are the ones that take themselves way WAY to seriously and try to hard to impress.. Churchill, Cliphead and NF being excellent examples. Self deprecation is an alien concept to these individuals.

And in a way I quite like the way that the moderation is adaptable.. keeps one on his toes!

Give it time. We need to learn the ropes first. But don't make the mistake that because certain posts and posters haven't been dealt with yet, they won't be dealt with in future... especially those who've been here a while and should know better.

I don't see much has changed, except that we have a few people with more delicate feelings, and there's been rather more understanding of late. This has rattled the cage of the more, erm, forthright members.
Down with racism. Long live miscegenation!

You have stated in the past that you post with the specific intent of winding people up.

If all you seek to do here is to irritate and annoy others then you contribute nothing of value and should either go or be removed.

Did you remember that post or go back looking for it?

And nowhere did I say that all I seek to do here is irritate and annoy, thats just a line you like to trot out on occasion to make yourself look like a poor victim. I do on occasion like to poke fun at people on here, but if thats what you think of as deserving a ban, then we will just have to agree to disagree.

If it is any consolation I dont think you should be banned ....depsite your faults.

Classic troll... "Oh no, I'm actually very reasonable, it's all those other people overreacting..."

You are a troll, and have boasted about being such.

Have you considered getting a life, or do you love being a whipping boy for some non-existent "mafia" on an online forum?

Well that depends Nick, on how the Forum & Moderators define trolling, and whether it is condoned or not. I believe as General(&LR) is not a serious forum(hence the flaming I got when i got back for questioning it, the One a Day thread and the lack of moderation) then as I read the rules, then it's all up for grabs by all types of poster. You just happen to be one type of poster.

Your trolling argument though is completely counter productive. You have levelled it at a number of posters to whom you have a counter argument or point. I believe that this whole witchhunt on 'so called trolling and cyber bullying' is being stoked by yourself & the likes of Zippy & a couple of others, with the odd attention seeker Suityou jumping up and down and shouting 'troll'

It's counter productive for all the good stuff you do. IMO

                    Troll sites
While some webmasters and forum administrators consider trolls to be a scourge on their sites, some websites welcome them. For example, a New York Times article discussed troll activity at the /b/ board on 4chan and at Encyclopedia Dramatica, which it described as "an online compendium of troll humor and troll lore".[3] This site and others such as The Bad Webcomics Wiki are often used as a base to troll against sites that they can not normally post on. These trolls feed off the reactions of their victims because 'their agenda is to take delight in causing trouble'.[17]
                    [edit] Usage

In Internet slang, a troll is someone who posts inflammatory, extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community, such as an online discussion forum, chat room or blog, with the primary intent of provoking other users into an emotional response[1] or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion.[2]

Application of the term troll is highly subjective. Some readers may characterize a post as trolling, while others may regard the same post as a legitimate contribution to the discussion, even if controversial. The term is often used as an ad hominem strategy to discredit an opposing position by attacking its proponent.

Often, calling someone a troll makes assumptions about a writer's motives. Regardless of the circumstances, controversial posts may attract a particularly strong response from those unfamiliar with the robust dialogue found in some online, rather than physical, communities. Experienced participants in online forums know that the most effective way to discourage a troll is usually to ignore him or her, because responding tends to encourage trolls to continue disruptive posts — hence the often-seen warning: "Please do not feed the trolls
                    ".

I dont think I have ever used the term 'mafia' on this forum? Who are you quoting?

But now that you mention it, I do think you overreact quite badly.
