I tried waxing on myself t'other day CM - am I mentally ill? I have never been waxed properly and that has well and truly put me off.Practically perfect in every way....there's a time and (more importantly) a place for malarkey.

I started as a young lad (aged 13) with shaving foam (the canned variety) and then went onto the canned gel variety. Neither of which gave me a particularly smooth shave to be honest. Plus you went through a can relatively quickly. I then started using a shaving brush and shaving cream (the type that comes in a tube / tub) which worked wonders and lasted me a good 4-6 months shaving daily.
I then went ahead got myself a shaving mug and now use shaving soap daily unless I am abroad then I revert to shaving cream. The soaps last a good 6-8 months, I am still using 2009 x-mas hall to shave with and I have a bunch of new soaps waiting in the wings. Great lather every time with a brush, and it’s a nice way to start the day.
I recommend soaps and creams from Trumpers and Truefitt and Hill. Crabtree and Evelyn used to do fantastic soaps and creams but I have found their range has been pretty poor for the last 4 years.

I didn't think it could be so bad. I made the classic error of being initially too cautious with the strip - was left in pain and it was still attached. I seriously considered just living with it attached. Bad times.Originally posted by cailin maith View PostHoly tulip Mary - are you mad??!! Proving once and for all that I know nada about dermatology (the itchy-and-scratchy specialism) wouldn't it have been easier to immerse your leg in a bath of water and then remove the strip?Originally posted by MaryPoppins View PostI didn't think it could be so bad.
