Trust me foul as your Nargis Kebab is - I had lunch in a cheap Indian restaurant yesterday and I can top it!!! Not that I ate anything that foul but I saw what others were ordering!

Nagris it is my man, but if you get the chance, get yourself off to one of the other locales for a bit.

Dubai's good for a blow out, or get yourself to Kuwait. I'm sure they have early morning flights, treat it like a London to Glasgow flight, grab a hotel and get on the red eye.

As I understand it when you are out here for a longer period you arrange to live in one of the many Ex-Pat Compounds... and you employ a live in Philipino Maid and "other services" are pretty easy to come by......
However in Hotels the risk of the 2nd knock on your door being a lot of pretty unfriendly Police men with truncheons who will happily break them over your head and drag you off to jail is rather too great!

Not withstanding the official punishment of several years in prison and quite likely public lashing.....

I am not saying that it doesn't happen.... and I don't doubt that it might even be fairly common..... but not for me thanks (NB Quite apart from not actually wanting such a service)

That sounds about right. If you are going to be there for any length of time an expat compound may be the way to go

Its pretty well 1am so I am off to bed for a quick kip (please no mention of a Pot Noodle)......
then tomorrow morning I think I'll start off with a swim and a sauna...
and see how the day goes.... probably some shopping and a stroll along the Corniche....... I really must get a picture of King Fahds Fountain.....
