However there is a great little place tucked behind Warren Street tube. I think it's Whitfield Place. I know some contractors who swear by it.
That would be the Agra, 135 Whitfield Street. It is darn good.

I agree about Drummond street - it was one of the first areas of Indian immigration in London back in the 50s. It's the thinking man's Brick Lane and right by your area. I haven't actually dined there but hear Masala Hut is nice - the others probably are too.

Me too. And I've got a microwaveable Chicken Balti in the fridge. Must resist!

Not had much luck at Brick Lane, most places Bangladeshi and pretty mediocre.

BRick lane has gone downhill in recent years. It's aimed at tourists these days with barkers outside the restaraunts trying to tempt people inside.

Used to go there regularly as a student as the Union Bar was a 2 minute walk away. Some of the best food I had there was in the transport cafe style places. Formical tables and flourescent lighting. This was 20 years ago now though

If only a curry breakfast was socially acceptable...

rooburoo in Islington. Nice food. May be a bit out of the way though.
I'm better than dirt. Well, most kinds of dirt, not that fancy store-bought dirt... I can't compete with that stuff.

I hear very good things about Thattukada in East Ham though it might be a bit of a trek!
