    I agree about Drummond street - it was one of the first areas of Indian immigration in London back in the 50s. It's the thinking man's Brick Lane and right by your area. I haven't actually dined there but hear Masala Hut is nice - the others probably are too.
    Another vote for Drummond street from me, much better than brick lane, and a short walk from where you are staying.
