I've used Firefox for some years now - seemed to offer better protection when <ahem> 'researching' adult sites. & loved the tabbed windows before MS caught up

Got the Brit English dictionary & McAfee add ins loaded (McAfee is prime contender for removal) & performance is good - but annoyingly when looking at say the Telegraph site it seems to go haywire and drives the system fan crazy - almost as if it's gobbling up system resources - but can't be ar5ed to investigate more

I use both IE and Firefox and my preference is obvious and has been posted here many times.

The problem with a lot of Firefox users is that they have a tendency to install and then spend an hour or two putting in addons. I get sick and tired of removing the damned things because they then complain that it's slow.
Firefox is extremely fast, but slows down tremendously when they start chucking the Google addons etc into the pot.

On the subject, I don't agree. I have IE7 and FF3, neither has much changed out of the box and both take equivalent time to start up. Both are WAY slower than Chrome to load.

Is it Chrome that has that fancy javascript engine so javascript is pre-compiled instead of continuously being interpreted, resulting in much faster processing, or did I just dream that?
