shes not a contractor, its a permie position in completely different industry.

i havent a clue about permie land interviews, job offers, response times...

its been 3-4 days since her interview, is it normal to be waiting this long for a decision? she says she will call the agent on Friday for an update.

I would leave it until the end of the week and then see what they say - as others have said, it sounds like someone else is in the frame and they are waiting for a decision from them one way or the other.

Agent will often contact the client soon after the interview for feedback and to offer more candidates from the 'reserve' list if the first batch don't go down too well e.g. just had a couple of great CV's in that I can send you.
Don't bother chasing, you will hear either nothing or bad news. Try to get her to forget about it, good luck with that, women are incapable of this so just let her chase constantly until she gets told.

            job update - social networking

was on facebook last night - and decided to search for my ladies interviewer - just so happens we share a mutual friend, a very close friend of mine knows him very very well...

i have asked my friend to follow up for us and ask him how she got on - but im afraid its all too little too late?

one thing is for sure though regarding this - tangible proof of effective social networking in action.

Why the f'ck did you do that!!!!

Mixing personal and work life for a job she doesn't even have yet. Not to mention how awkward this will be if she hasn't got it.

i disagree - i reckon it would swing it for her, my friend is a very senior director for a large corporate organisation and any link to him is seen as one of high regard.

                thanks anyway for your comments.

The triumph of hope over experience.

Proof of the power of social networking my bum. Proof that gossip has entered a new technological era more like.

I hope she gets the job

look, lets just say she is already in line for the job - and he gets an email from a respected colleague it would only back his judgment that hes found the right candidate.

lets just say he gave the job to someone else - then gets an email from a respected colleage - it could make him think twice about the candidate he has just selected.
