First Date. Terrible. Sigh.

The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.
But the judge said: “That simply demonstrates your arrogance continues. You are typical. Inmates of prison are people who are dishonest. You are a thoroughly dishonestly man motivated by your own selfish greed.” -

Mary Poppins. What would you have done if he had sat down on the couch and said
'I dont have a guitar. I dont play the guitar. Now come here and get over my knee, I will give you a good hard spanking for going back to a mans flat on a first date.
There is no use struggling. now Drop em!! whack whack'
???I thought so.
Listen lads, forget the guitar lessons, just buy yourselves a paddle instead

I have a friend who has taken up the acoustic guitar and he played it recently - I wasnt expecting Eric Clapton but all he did was strum the thing like a madman and this guitar is LOUD. At the same time he is singing very badly but thankfully his guitar drowned out most of his voice. He actually thinks he's very good.
Any other friend I would have had a quite word with them and told them nicely that they may need to improve slightly but in this case the guy has joined one of those happy clappy churches and everyone there tell him he's brilliant. Also as the music is so closely aligned with his new religion it makes it difficult for me to say anything.
So, while I was laughing at your post I was at the same time getting flashbacks to my friends session.Last edited by Naaarwich; 23 November 2009, 11:32.Comment

Did somthing like this a few years ago, my ex (that explains the outcome already!) took me back to hers for some "coffee" or so I thought, while we were there I spotted her guitar, picked it up and proceeded to sing and play quite a good rendition of "message in a bottle"
However I was very, very drunk and could not feel the strings properly, undaunted by this I continued to play as I was very confident in my ability. It wasn't till the next morning that I realised the guitar was your ordinary right handed acoustic jobbie, but I'm left handed! She wasn't best impressed as she had told her flatmates I was in a band etc.......
So it could've been worse!!Who has time? Who has time? But then if we do not ever take time, how can we ever have time?Comment
