I was born here ffs - my grandparents came over here in 1951. Don't worry, you're not the first to have such a prejudiced opinion. All over these boards, people assume I'm an Eastern European immigrant from the recent wave. Like yesterday I was chastised for calling the countryside "our countryside" as if I'm sone Johnny come lately foreigner. Astounding. If I was an Asian, I'm sure I'd be able to cry "Racism" at this point!

It was this bit that got me. I've always been a native - I was born here, to an English father I might add.

Also, unlike the current wave , many of whom are just opportunistic economic migrants, my grandparents were escaping genuine oppression.
