It would appear to me in this case that the largest amount of damage has been caused by the 'outing' by the authorities and subsequent press coverage.

Had this issue been sensitively handled by who ever first discovered it then I would imagine it would never have hit the press.

I guess the reason it was dragged all over the press was that some bitter twisted individual decide to leak it - mainly so she or he could take the other womans position.

so there you have it 2 lives ruined so one moralistic moron could climb the greasy pole - that for me is the worst part of this whole sorry (and ultimately common and uninteresting) tale.
