I'll spare you the rant about him (or you) not checking stuff in.
When you say going 'live' do you mean to the UAT server?

Not pushed, that's for sure. He was p**** off and wanted to move on. The trouble is, while he was perfectly good at his job, and knew where everything was and at what state it was at, he's done a p*** poor job of leaving things in a tidy state.Originally posted by Pogle View PostWhy did he go?
I would expect someone at his level of experience could keep a tidy workshop.

Shove the contents of the UAT server to live. That is what has been tested and signed off. I don't see what else you can do SY01.
Go for a pint after work.
Tomorrow, make some noise about development, testing and deployment processes and offer to help fix them.
Good luck!+50 Xeno Geek Points

The problem is, not all of it is on UAT, parts of UAT has been rolled back by mistake, so basically UAT no longer represents what was UAT'ed, if you get what I mean.Originally posted by Zippy View PostShove the contents of the UAT server to live. We have a very precarious plan to try and rebuild UAT to what it was from scraps of backups, database syncs, fag packet sketches etc.Knock first as I might be balancing my chakras.Comment

Is this a windup?
If you take this live you should be shot or at least have plane tickets to Brazil handy.
No business is ever going to agree to that being deployed.Comment

I know I shouldn't be saying this but you never, ever, ever fck around with the UAT box. You really have been dumped in it.
Can't you call the cowboy for a few hints on where he put stuff?
