    Chippies serve scallops?

Also, I've never had a pickled egg. What are they like? Do they just taste like rubbery vinegar?

In some parts of the country Scallops are a couple of slices of spud with a fish slice inside, all in batter of course.

Put me down for a Special, cake, chips and mushy peas, plus a large bottle of D&B.

Nope, that's a fish pattie or a fish cake (depending on where you are), a scallop is just the spud - no fish

Or that's how it works in Yorkshire anyway

A different part of Yorkshire than the bit I know then. I was thinking the spud only variety was from somewhere else.

P.S. Don't forget the D&B. I haven't had any of that for years, and now I'm pining for a glass or two...

                  Yes, exactly.

I do miss steak puddings. The thing about Europe is they just dont do meat-filled pies.
Oh, I’m sorry….I seem to be lost. I was looking for the sane side of town. I’d ask you for directions, but I have a feeling you’ve never been there and I’d be wasting my time.

I fancy some crispy chips, not soggy ones like last time. Golden brown on the outside and fluffy on the inside and soaked liberally in salt & vinegar. And hot.

Come to think of it some MacDonalds French Fries would do nicely.
