I once tried to get served in an Austrian restaurant. When I spoke to the waitress in my English-accent German she sniffed and wandered off and never came back.

    Therefore,

All Germanic peoples the world over are rude, ignorant pigs who have never got over losing those World Wars. All their restaurants are horrible places. How the Krauts and their kind put up with themselves I cannot imagine.

    (PS 'Meh' ? WTF?)

Fishers on the Fulham road. Great Fish and Chips and you can even eat in like a proper restaurant and everything.

Sometimes get a portion of chips with a saveloy on the way home... The greek chippy at the top of Oxford street is good too, know where I might be going for lunch.

As long as that attitude keeps you away from my neck of the woods I could not be more pleased.

As the award for "Chippy of the year" *cant remember the real award name* has been won in my locality in the UK a number of times I may be spoiled.

Is it proper Northern fish with the skin off? If so, haddock, twice and can the Missus have hers breaded? Otherwise, one chicken and mushroom pie and one cod. One large chips, one beans. No salt, don't mind vinegar. Have they got bread 'n' butter? If so, a couple of rounds but if it's baps or buns then don't bother. They can wrap it all up together, if they want.

We've got loads of service station ketchup sachets, if anyone needs one.

Atkinsons. It has changed hands a number of times since, but is still decent.

Did you drink in the Dog?

Was out on a rare night out in Nottingham (my local large town) on Saturday.

We actually got stopped by 3 bouncers on the door of the KFC-clone that we were trying to get into.

They said it was a one-in one-out policy. LOL WTF

Now you don't get that at your local chippie, unless your a scouse.

Let's face it there are plenty of cracking Fish and Chip shops in the UK, admittedly they're outnumbered about 3:1 by crappy ones, but you can find at least 1 good one in most UK towns.
Unlike McNoxious and Kentrucky Fried Rat they have their own local specialities too which can be great.

Also this place can ship Frey Bentos meat filled pies anywhere in the world and a few other similar things as well http://www.xpatshop.co.uk/ I believe.

Still not got used to telling Euro takeaways to not to put mayonnaise all over my chips. Some guy in Amsterdam was quite offended when I left it too late recently.

I live on the West coast. Morecambe bay. With a following wind I could piss in the sea from my bedroom. Maybe that is a slight exageration, more like I could hit a tennis ball into the sea from my front garden but it would have to clear the house opposite.

In France you only get sweet stuff in pastry. Well, they do a reasonable quiche and some cracking good sandwiches, not to mention les Hot Dogs - those are worth buying simply for the laughs as some young fille française tries to insert a wobbly sausage into the baguette
