It’s just a potato disc in batter down ere’ in zomerzet.

The kebab shops are superseding them with big chunky spicy coated potato wedges, perfect for soaking up ale whilst I sleep.
Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave Johnson

Having dabbled in German cuisine for about 7 of the last 10 years I can quite definately say you are wrong.
As the award for "Chippy of the year" *cant remember the real award name* has been won in my locality in the UK a number of times I may be spoiled.
I am not qualified to give the above advice!

Cant face food at the mo, but I wouldn't say no to a large americano (no milk) from Cafe Nero or even Costa - just NOT Starbucks - thanks sweetie
I'm sorry, but I'll make no apologies for this

I do miss steak puddings. The thing about Europe is they just dont do meat-filled pies.
Sadly true, although I have found a place that does savoury veggie stuff in pastry.

In France you only get sweet stuff in pastry. Well, they do a reasonable quiche and some cracking good sandwiches, not to mention les Hot Dogs - those are worth buying simply for the laughs as some young fille française tries to insert a wobbly sausage into the baguette

Ah, but don't you live near the sea? More of an east coast visitor myself, but a seaside chippy takes some beating.
