Doesnt matter, even if it was 0.00001% he has still been elected on his manifesto. That is what the people want. It is up to him to now try and deliver on his election promises. It does not matter if he researched it or not, nor does it matter if it is possible or not. What matters is that he has a mandate from the community to try.Originally posted by leeperry View PostHe was elected by a stonking 11.75% of the electorate so I wouldn't get carried away...
People complaining after the fact have only themselves to blame. They could have voted against him. Those that did vote against him were unlucky as there were not enough of them.I am not qualified to give the above advice!

No one is perfect, and it is good to be challenged, but likewise I am challenging the interviewer. It seems that the mayor was simply saying that the council under his leadership would not fund a gay rights march. He did not say that he would ban it.Originally posted by leeperry View PostWell, he didn't even know if they did fund it, but he was going to stop it anyway!Let us not forget EU open doors immigration benefits IT contractors more than anyoneComment

But you dont need 3 GCSE's to realise that the way he came across in his actions, response and attitude - that he just needs a slap?Originally posted by DodgyAgent View PostNo one is perfect, and it is good to be challenged, but likewise I am challenging the interviewer. He was interviewed on Telly yesterday and he gave a very strong performance in front of a BBC interviewer. We only have the version of the interview given out by the person who interviewed him to go on.Let us not forget EU open doors immigration benefits IT contractors more than anyoneComment

No, you cannot say that. It is what 11.75% of the people of Doncaster want.Originally posted by The Lone Gunman View PostDoesnt matter, even if it was 0.00001% he has still been elected on his manifesto. That is what the people want.
It absolutley matters, he is an elected offical to head up a town with a budget and he doesn't know what powers he will have or what he can and can't do. It shows a basic failure of research on his part.Originally posted by The Lone Gunman View PostIt is up to him to now try and deliver on his election promises. A turnout of 35% shows that the rest of the community did not care, but if he mucks around enough then people will.Originally posted by The Lone Gunman View PostWhat matters is that he has a mandate from the community to try.

Thats how it works. Majority rule and the people are allowed to elect a clueless idiot if they want to.Originally posted by leeperry View PostNo, you cannot say that. It is what 11.75% of the people of Doncaster want.

Each candidate offered a set of proposals and the people chose the one they liked best. That is it, end of.I am not qualified to give the above advice!

That's correct - I saw him interviewed on telly on Sunday and that's exactly what he said.Originally posted by DodgyAgent View PostIt seems that the mayor was simply saying that the council under his leadership would not fund a gay rights march. He did not say that he would ban it.Comment
