As DEV lead, does your team sign off unit test scripts and does your team undertake peer code reviews ?

Oh, I see, you're a bitter permie. That explains it [/QUOTE]

no bitterness here dude, just contempt at the lack of pride in work.

i aint a bitter permie. im earning 90% of what i was contracting in 2007, as a perm in 2009. when the market picks up, i wil start contracting again at 30% more than i was in 2007...i went into perm to skill up in the particular trading system i work on - before the downturn. in the meantime, im enjoying nice bonuses, depsite the downturn.

Generally the winking emoticon designates a joke or flippant statement. HTH.

I have contempt at the lack of pride in your spelling, why didn't you test it before you posted?

Why are you telling us? Tell the development team you are supposed to be leading.
Rule Number 1 - Assuming that you have a valid contract in place always try to get your poo onto your timesheet, provided that the timesheet is valid for your current contract and covers the period of time that you are billing for.

                I preferred version 1!

haha. do they ****. do you know what a high pressure role is?

success here is built on integrity. i need to rely on my boys doing their bit. i can build on that. i dont need to find their code failing at the worst time possible.

I do not own it, the client does. I will deliver what I am paid to deliver and it will work as was required.
If the client wants (and pays for) a code monkey then that is what I will deliver. If they wish to use my Software Engineering facility then they will pay for it.
I am not qualified to give the above advice!

Well there you are then. Pressure translates to tight time lines which means quality control is missed.......... then people wonder why things dont work and ofcourse it takes longer to find the problems.

Unit test scripts, code reviews and quality control exist for a reason.
