      tried that

in IT you get paid by the hour, as an escort you get paid by the inch. I'm still paying back the refunds five years later

Are there any shelf stacking jobs about? In the tail end of the last downturn I did a sort of techy warehouse job for EDS as there was nothing else about. This time around even that type of job is practically non existent and even if it were you'd have to seriously strip out your CV to convince them you wouldn't be off at the first opportunity, plus competition is fierce at the bottom end.

I had these worries on a modest mortgage so I rang my provider to see if there was a payment holiday option, Nationwide gave me interest only for 12 months which brought our mortgage down from £650 to £160 a month, they offered a payment free option but I didn't want to see our mortgage go up over the period.

Apparently I have the option to do this twice during the life of the mortgage, it's worth thinking about if you can’t see anything coming off for a while or like me you've taken a tulip rate just to keep going.

                Kozak,

                helicopter pad !!

I thought the helicopter was under the water ?

are they expecting people to go there by helicopter ?

will it be cheaper to park a helicopter than a car ?

have they got the planning yet for the accomodation and hotel stuff ?

I know the feeling - but I have just been offered a low paid permie role - an interesting one but low paid all the same ( less then I was on as a permi 5 years ago!) Offered the job there and then within 15 mins of the interview - got an extra 2k out of them but don't think they go any higher !

Do I - Stick it out for a few more weeks/months or take the permi role untill things look up ( lots of IT projects to work on there so would look good on the CV)?

...Being hounded for permie roles but not a sniff of a contract
Just call me Matron - Too many handbags

I'd jump to the Permie role if I was in your shoes tbh.

If it meant that I could get home every night rather than shooting off on a Monday morning at 5:00am I would not even think twice about it.

I'm working on the assumption that 70% of something is better than 100% of nothing as my flights/accomodation take up about 30% of my rate

I know that feeling. Day 1 covers my accomodation and half of day 2 is flights paid for. The rest is mine!
