So far I've been contracting solid this year, but my latest contract ended last week and the market seems preetty dead at the moment.

Do I - Stick it out for a few more weeks/months or take the permi role untill things look up ( lots of IT projects to work on there so would look good on the CV)?

...Being hounded for permie roles but not a sniff of a contract

I was offered a permy role mid February that required putting me through clearance. Meanwhile I have been searching for a decent paid contract above
about £300 per day without any luck. I get the interviews but the roles just vanish. Well the clearance has come through now and the offer is on the table and I start on Monday

I'm taking it as i've been out now for six months and even though the mortgage is paid off I do need some money coming in so I'm taking the role and actually looking forward to it. It's working away from home again but I actually get to either walk to work or cycle which is something that I have not managed to do for a long time so I might actually loose some weight.

Good luck all out there. The market is very bad and this is my third recession.

I once worked with a contractor who claimed to have 2 plan B's and was working towards a 3rd.

The first was the aforementioned male escort. The 2nd, he penned trashy romance novels under a pseudonym (possibly based on his other adventures)

He was also taking helicopter lessons and was planning on buying one to offer an executive chauffeur service.

No idea how true any of that was but it always makes me laugh remembering.

I thought the helicopter was under the water ?

are they expecting people to go there by helicopter ?

will it be cheaper to park a helicopter than a car ?

have they got the planning yet for the accomodation and hotel stuff ?

    Milan.
Will be seeing Terry sometime this week so will ask him. I think they are just planning to develop the field at the top of the quarry for camping which will be a blast. The restaurant is still waiting for approval. I will at some point be putting in their network across the site and a POS system. May get a dive in during the day if I get time. Yeh the helicopter pad was a requirement for the opening of the center.

The asking price of your house has risen 2.4% this month. That should pay the bills.

No need to stack selves, just open a spread bet account and make some real money.
