We cancelled SKY, because there is never anything good on it. Must have watched 2 programmes on it during the last year.
A month after we cancelled - they started sending us all sorts of offers, including a free Sky+ upgrade, free installation and they offered us £50 of M&S vouchers.
We didn't take up the offer, since there are still no channels showing anything we are interested in.Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

To be fair mate, you do have some, how can I put it, "pretty niche" interests!Originally posted by Board Game Geek View PostWe cancelled SKY, because there is never anything good on it. Must have watched 2 programmes on it during the last year.

I can watch and record dross for nowt with freeview and my Hummy PVR.
Record 2 loads of drivel at the same time as watching a 3rd...
Now that's what I call a waste of time.
Have to say though the best this about it is choose and press, and series recording. My recording success rate on VCRs was about 5%."I can put any old tat in my sig, put quotes around it and attribute to someone of whom I've heard, to make it sound true."

Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave JohnsonComment
