    I've got two BMW's.

    A 1 yr old 320d (fully kitted) and a 3.2L Z3M (S54 engine) of which only 28 we're made worldwide in RHD.

Nissan Primera is a good deal...if you can handle the depreciation. Not one to keep for a year and then sell on. You'll have a heart attack.

Though if anyone is interested in a '98 Passat with 17" alloys, 128.8K miles and dent in one door..going for £800.

Depends how new you want it. The Focus seems to be well regarded and you could get a newish one for £6k, if you want something bigger it'd have to be older... TopGear reckoned the Mondeo was a great car a few years back, which'd be the model you'd be able to afford.

Or, the Toyota Corolla, if that's not too small.

                Hyundai!

I have a feeling I may get flamed for this but...

I bought a brand new Hyundai Getz last year for just over 6k, with 5 year warrenty. It's not huge, but I'm 6' 5" and I can sit comfortably in both the front and the back. 4 people can sit in no problem. Nice little runner too.

Hasn't got a huge boot thou.

                Just a thought.

Skoda Superb 1.9 TDi Elegance. Very unfashionable, very comfy, full leather, full electric, sat nav etc... huge in the rear, ~45 to 50 mpg and nobody steals them. Perfect family car.

I know the one; commonly known as the BMW Anorak.
