If the latter, the point I was trying to demonstrate is that the emotions of grief seem to be publically available for consumption these days, and that this appears to spiralled since the death of Lady Diana.
Thousands of children, and indeed adults, die every day, and yet we don't have a thread dedicated to them exclusively, do we ?
If it's a forum member, such as the dearly-missed Fleetwood, then I can perhaps understand it. He was a member of the community and known by all (at the time).
I'd expect people to want to give condolences in such a situation.
But nowadays it seems that many do it almost habitually, in public, for all to see, and I wonder if the sentiment of grieving is less important than being seen to grieve in the first place ?
