There is often an abscence of humanity on this board (herd mentality, me-too bullying, irrational hatred etc.) I hope it is not really rperesentative of people in general.

The picture on the front page of the BBC sit really choked me up. I can't imagine how distraught they must feel.

Bogey : There you go again.

More bulltulip to cover your tracks.
      Oh dear.

Is it BGG-baiting day today ?

I think I've got a Bogey on my tail !
Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

My thoughts are if you don't like it don't post, or set up another thread to air your views. We shouldn't have to justify things like this.
        Disagree Puss.

This thread gives a bloody good insight into the thinking and attitudes of some of the posters here - myself included I suppose.

You've come right out the other side of the forest of irony and ended up in the desert of wrong.

Yes, but it's not quite the same here.

I understand the point you're making, but here we're just sharing the 'poor bloke' sentiment that many of us rightly feel. In the same way we share the 'stabbity stab' sentiments about other issues on a regular basis. It's not a media frenzy, and we shouldn't overcomplicate this.

I do actually know David Cameron. Not best mates, but I do actually know him.

Your post is obviously an SP and designed to be provocative.

It happens every single time people let down their guard. I think people get used to the baiting so much they don't know when to let it go.

BGG, I don't think this is anything like the Diana thing, I agree that someone famous dieing is not more special, of course Diana was over-done, that was the media as much as anyone else (especailly the paper you like to buy). It's just the thought of it being someone fairly young losing a child, it could have been someone in the office, a friend or whoever. I'd still feel a bit sad hearing about it. I appreciate some people don't like emotional stuff, and the first reaction is to scorn. Thing is, sometimes you expect everyone will have a similar view but then we are all different.

The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.

But the judge said: “That simply demonstrates your arrogance continues. You are typical. Inmates of prison are people who are dishonest. You are a thoroughly dishonestly man motivated by your own selfish greed.”
