Why does it list this thread's topic in General as

      "People Laugh at You (‏ ( 1 2)"

instead of the normal way round ?

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

      C.S. Lewis

You have entered the Twilight zone of CUK
The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.

But the judge said: “That simply demonstrates your arrogance continues. You are typical. Inmates of prison are people who are dishonest. You are a thoroughly dishonestly man motivated by your own selfish greed.”

Is it due to having an email in the opening comment? I wonder if NickFitz knows?

Because of the #8207 character at the end of "You", whatever that is.

It's the Unicode Character 'RIGHT-TO-LEFT MARK'

It indicates that the following text is in a language whose characters run right-to-left, such as Arabic. So the browser thinks "Ah, I need to display this the opposite way round to the rest of the text"

It's needed if, for example, one wants to quote some right-to-left language in a piece of text which is otherwise in a language written left-to-right.
