You're ignoring Mormon sects where marriage to underage girls is common, but also, with parental consent underage marriage is feasible in just about every state. I somehow don't think marriage of a 13 year-old would be sanctioned in the UK.
Please read and as an example look at New Hampshire in particular :
New Hampshire: A female between the age of 13 and 17 years and a male between the age of 14 and 17 years can be married only with the permission of their parent (guardian) and a waiver. A female below the age of 13 and a male below the age of 14 are not allowed to marry under any conditions. If both parties are nonresidents of NH and are below the age of 18 they cannot be married in NH under any conditions.

Age of consent old chap, age of consent. I don't see anywhere there where the age of consent is as you put it:
Marrying at 13:well below 16 in many states
You list 1 state, 1 state, where they can marry at 13 with parents permission.kids can marry at 13 for instance
Pwnd.Hang on - there is actually a place called Cheddar?? - cailin maith

You really are a pathetic individual Snaw, and I have proven that it is you grasping at straws by looking at headline ages of consent for the USA.
If you read that website you will see that with parental consent, which is common, most of those ages of consent can be broken and there are many states that can allow less than 16 because of this.
As I said before, you are not comparing like with like, because in the UK children are not allowed under any circumstances to marry at under 16.

Nope. I'm an individual, who on this fact is very right. While you are one who's very desperate, and very wrong.Originally posted by Cyberman View PostYou really are a pathetic individual Snaw, and I have proven that it is you grasping at straws by looking at headline ages of consent for the USA.

Go on, prove your claims.
Show me proof that :
The age of consent in America is well below 16 in many states. And while we're at it:Kids can marry at 13 for instance. (1 state, with parental approval and a court dispensation doesn't make your case.)
Many people getting married at 13 in the US, CB?If you read that website you will see that with parental consent, which is common,Hang on - there is actually a place called Cheddar?? - cailin maith
