The fact that we'll come together as a society every year to donate millions of pounds to Children In Need and/or Comic Relief - even in a recession.
Charities exist in other countries you know. The fact that we have to have big TV shows to remind people to donate could be interpreted as being a bad thing.
The fact that we treat every single person as an equal in this country.
No we don't. My wife has received horendous treatment since coming to Britan, despite having a perminent residency visa.
The fact that today I watched on the news the parent of that poor kid shot in Liverpool...and their words were thanking the many thousands of people who had written to them, complete strangers who had supported them for no reason other than they felt their pain.
It was the father who read out the statement and was thankful for INTERNATIONAL support.
The fact that we can get our tubes and our buses blown up one day, and we'll be there standing at that frolicking stop at 8:30am the next morning.
Same in other countries - IRAQ for example. Also the same where natural disasters occur such as earthquakes. People everywhere just get on with life. Nothing uniquely British.
The fact that I can come on here and rant my opinions down everyone neck without having the police at my door.
You can in many other countries - in fact I would say the majority of countries allow free speech.
The fact that the majority of us go to sleep tonight safe, fed, warm.
Tell that to the pensioners who have to decide whether to eat or heat. In many other countries you can go to bed safer, better fed and warmer.
The fact that a little girl goes missing on holiday and the people of this country raise millions of pounds pretty much overnight.
Whilst ignoring the thousands of others, both children and adults, who go missing in this country each year.
The fact that the majority of people in this country who in other countries would be left to suffer, in this country wont be.
Example please. There's a lot of suffering in the UK and by UK citizens.
The fact that if a person collapses in the street in this country they will get taken into hospital and looked after until they are well again - regardless of where they are from or whether they have insurance or not.
Not necessarily. If you are not from the UK you get your passport taken off you until you pay, and as you are not a national then you get didily squat to live off whilst you try and find the money to pay your hospital bill. Also many other countries have "free hospitals."
