More seriously, its surprising how we seem one of the few countries that still keep going on about the war.
Almost 30 years ago I went for a contract in Hamburg. Got a room at Eppendorfer Landstrasse 22. Talking to the landlady in the kitchen, I commented on the wonderful oak kitchen table. Ah yes, she said, it is a very good table, I was under it the night the RAF blew up the rest of the street. From the other side of that kitchen wall, all the way up the street, had been flattened. Next morning I took a look down in the street, and sure enough, from no. 24 upwards was brick-built replacement. And at street level, at no. 24, was a bar, the first thing they had built in the reconstruction. They called it the "Sir Winston Churchill".

That was when I realised that (a) they had got over the war, and (b) they had a sense of humour.

isn't that strange, does anyone else find the ceiling strangely low in terminal 2 check in area ?
T2 is the oldest, tuliptiest part of the whole airport now, and only the crap airlines fly from there. I think it's still undergoing renovations.

I quite like T4 & T5 and T1 is ok. I haven't flown from T3 for a few years now, but don't remember it being awful.

Technically speaking (within the time limits allotted), no. I believe we and Germany lost, and America won.

Sally. You sound like one of those people proud to be English for no apparent reason. Being born here was a random event AFAIAC I feel no allegiance to this country and no responsibilty for the actions of the morons who brought down the economy Gordon Brown included or any obligation to spread any love/wealth/join the samaritans

The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.

But the judge said: “That simply demonstrates your arrogance continues. You are typical. Inmates of prison are people who are dishonest. You are a thoroughly dishonestly man motivated by your own selfish greed.”
