It's not the poverty, it's the acceptance of it as normal, and the poverty of spirit that goes with it. Not the bus being late but the fact that nobody gives a tulip. Not the dirt and litter but the lack of self-respect, and respect for others and the environment, that breeds it.

Things have got so bad the centre-piece for the new shopping mall is to be a three storey Primark and boy, you should have heard the councillors and the local rag rave about what a great thing it was for the town.

Reminds of my hometown. A few years ago developers ripped down the ice rink and a few other buildings to make way for what was promised to be a flagship retail store in the heart of thriving, metropolitan, Brighton.

        Who moved in?

        George at f**king Asda.

Not if that Hitler fella and his cronies were around but otherwise probably.
Germany now is very much like a better version of Britain and the younger Germans have even developed an OK sense of humour and got some decent bands.
Shame the language is so hard to learn.
          Hard Brexit now!

We might be better at penalties as well.

With my wife being Japanese we "don't mention the war."

More seriously, its surprising how we seem one of the few countries that still keep going on about the war.

Chin up everyone... we'll have the Olympics soon, it's supposed to restore a sense of national pride.
Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave Johnson

Hmm like there aren't some devious people who can't find out real identities
The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.

But the judge said: “That simply demonstrates your arrogance continues. You are typical. Inmates of prison are people who are dishonest. You are a thoroughly dishonestly man motivated by your own selfish greed.”

Didn't they? I'm afraid now Germany is like Britain should be in many ways, sorry.
Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.
