That kind of divisive prejudice is damaging in any workforce, but particularly in the police or the armed forces, where people have to rely on their colleagues for their lives. Put yourself in the position of a soldier who’s naturalised British, from whatever ethnic background. You’re in Afghanistan having you’re a*se shot at by the Taleban and the only person who can help you to survive is the guy next to you who’s a member of an extreme right winged racist organisation and who doesn’t consider you worthy of living in the same country as himself; how confident would you feel in doing your job? The same goes for police officers who have to go into dangerous situations, teachers who have to guide children of all different races and beliefs and managers who lead multicultural teams. I would applaud any employer who sacks the people on that list, obviously after they’ve had a chance to defend themselves against the accusation. It's not stalinist to do that, it's protecting your employees.

What I feel is a different matter is that of children being listed. Those kids will need to be protected by their schools against retributions; they shouldn’t be blamed for the political choices of their parents. But that just goes to show how bloody sick it is for parents to sign up their kids to a political party when they haven’t learnt enough about the world around them to make their own judgments.
    I'll vote for you!

Yes it is. If the party's legal (and it is) then membership should be too.

No, stop him, he's far to rational and logical to be on this site. The BNP are very nice boys that are much misunderstood!
The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.

But the judge said: “That simply demonstrates your arrogance continues. You are typical. Inmates of prison are people who are dishonest. You are a thoroughly dishonestly man motivated by your own selfish greed.”

And the Sufragettes didn't smash a bottle into the face of their fellow supporters at a family fun day, as Luke Smith did.

Indeed, I am a very strong supporters of paediatricians, they bring more good to this world than 1 mln stuffed overweight cat models (I like cats too though).

In response to all the "sacking people who are members is just wrong" whingers..

Being a police officer is a profession that has certain requirements attached. If you affiliate yourself with a group that has beliefs or aims against the stated aims of your profession then you have to choose a new profession affiliation.

I don't expect to work for Shell if I'm a GreenPeace activist, why should this be any different?

So who decideds which organisation is racists them, employers individually?

If the party is legal (and almost any should be so long as they don't brake the law) the membership in it is a legal practice.

I am far more concerned about Labour membership that helps wreck this country big time right now than BNP whose negative impact is next to zero and they have no chance to change that.

Yes, but have any of them jumped out in front of the Kings horse during a race?
