Sorry folks - I'm unlikely to be in London next week, as I'm still off sick.
Certainly won't make it for food, but if anything changes, I'll be up for meeting for drinks (although I'm off alcohol too at the moment
)
I'm sure that you'll all manage manfully (and womanfully) without me, though.Comment

I was going for a few things here: Nice food; Reasonably good reviews; Easy to get to; Near some good bars, pubs etc; and, most crucially, able to book on a Friday in December in London without having to pay in advance or put down a whacking great deposit.
As for the pub, it was chosen because it was easy for people to find, and near the restaurant. I must admit I didn't inspect it too closely, or indeed, check the beers available. Feel free to PM me with an alternative meeting place - that's the least of my worries, frankly.
Humble apologies if my post came across as critical of your good self, RH - that was absolutely not my intention, and I appreciate all the work you've put in to this
I dislike restaurants in general, so I doubt you could have found one that I would have been interested in going to under any circumstances - but that's just me, and no reflection on yourself or the evening you've planned

Thanks Nick, no apology necessary - we'll just issue an alternative meeting place if we can before the end of the week - no big deal... can't change the restaurant booking though.
I hope that you're able to come along this year, wouldn't be the same without you - and FaQQer... come on lad, chin up, drink through it.
Final call for RSVPs (by PM) by the way - finalising the restaurant booking this evening at 8pm, if you haven't RSVPed by then it'll be a faff to secure a seat for the dinner, if possible at all.
