I was a dustman - because I was casual I moved around. One week I was assigned to the small lorry that scraped dead cats and dogs off the road. We also went to vets and the PDSA and collected dead cats dogs rabbits etc. We threw them all in the back of our small lorry and took them to a plant where they were crushed and used to make bonemeal fertiliser

When I wasn't slumped asleep on the reception desk, what amused me most was the number of hookers who visited at all hours.
The door was locked at 11pm and anyone who wanted to come in after this time would have to come past me at reception and show their room key. It always used to tickle me when drunk men would wander down and sheepishly tell me that their "girlfriend" was coming to visit in a while. Said hooker would then arrive and leave usually an hour later. These chaps were even more embarrassed when they saw me at breakfast the next morning
I later found out that one of the night porters (who was slightly older but a bit of a wide boy) had been getting backhanders from an escort agency for recommending them to male guestsComment

I was chatting to the hotel bar man about this at the place I stay mid week at the moment. They've had problems with the pimps waiting in their cars right outside the front door... the staff have to go out and ask them to park round the back as their presence is intimidating the other guests.
