they said their fraud department will be sending me a letter and read me my rights as if they were police officers i was like wtf is going on here.
It's just a train service they cant do anything or can they?
little bit worried about the fraud department effecting my sc, is using a train without a valid ticket a criminal offence?Comment

hi the ticket i put in was the single ticket to my destination, not the return ticket thats what screwed me, and the reason why i get through the barriers is because I am fast and can easily walk behind someone when they put their own ticket in, thats all.
Well i got paid today so no more train hopping.
oh and the reason why I put it in, whereas normally i jsut pretend to put it in, is becasue i got of the train and i was at the front of the crowd, i wasn't thinking right, normally I just put myself in the middle of the crowd, but since i was near the front i had no choice and screwed myself, was a silly mistake.Comment

When you said that you accidentally put in the wrong ticket, you mean that it was a mistake to put in a ticket at all because you quite deliberately didn't have a valid ticket.Comment

You deliberately evade your fare not knowing the law and when you get caught you can't admit on a forum where no one who you actually are, what you tried to do.
Evading fares is a civil penalty and lots of people have done it in their time. If you get caught you either give them someone else's name and address which you can rattle off quickly then state you don't have any id on you, or you tell the truth and pay up.
Then you either admit to people you know that you have got caught for fare evasion or keep quiet."You’re just a bad memory who doesn’t know when to go away" JRComment
