Pretty much. But I'm not sure about the blind faith. Many religious adherents would at least claim that their faith is reasoned, not blind. They could of course be deluded.

You only have to look at wars to see how much our views are formed by the society we live in. Most Germans probably thought they were right, Japanese, us, Muslims, etc in the various wars too. And most would think they are not deluded.

I think SAS posted a link that showed 99% of the prison population in the US were followers of 1 religion or another. Less than 1% were non religious. Would that be good enough?

Nice try, but not really. First, you'd have to specify the religion. Second you'd have to look at the socio-economic group of the inmates and compare with the same socio-economic group outside of prison. It could simply be that non-religious criminals are better at not getting caught.
