Me either. No matter how hard it is sold. And looking at things critically, I don't think the Jesus of the bible did either... which probably shows that organised religionists don't even believe there own scriptures.Down with racism. Long live miscegenation! -
These scriptures are instruments of control. Of course the Romans did not believe them.Originally posted by NotAllThere View PostMe either. No matter how hard it is sold. Did George W. Bush believe Saddam has weapons of mass destruction and was about to attach America with them. I don't think so.

Scoffing during business meetings now is a countrywide council tradition. Somehow the wallies got it into their heads that that is what 'real' business people do!!!! Not in my 'real business' world it isn't!Comment

Occams razor is an interesting point. It's a way of choosing between alternatives. But it doesn't mean that the simplest is in fact true. Newtons theory of gravitation is much simpler than Einsteins. ( I've also thought that "God made it so" is a very simple theory, even though it's a bad one!)
( I hate fundamentalism - I keep wanting to spell it fundementalism ).
Hmmm. I would argue that most rich Western European countries are atheist in practice - in the practical way that most people may have some vague idea of believing in God but would not call themselves religious. And in spite of all the moaning these are the probably the happiest countries on the planet.
Occams Razor would suggest that evolution is a better theory of why we are here than Creationism in it's simple sense.
But I agree there is a question of why scientific and mathematical rules are as elegant as they are.Hard Brexit now!
