Well parents are still staunch Christians and as a child I read the Bible intensely, so sorry - my opinions are the result of a lot of thought, reading and analysis.

Where in that is there anything that it makes sense to believe is "true"? It's not history. It's not saying anything about God, the universe or anything.

to me it reads like an imperative:
do this - do it this way
ok so this one is only about bossing people around
do you wish to write more that it does not make sense to believe

I think you are reinforcing my cherry picking theory

        Well that makes sense.

I suppose we'll never know but if there was a supreme intelligence who started it all off, she, he or it, for want of better words, has obviously never intervened again. Because he doesn't exist.
        More circular reasoning.

          not true
and where's the evidence fo the truth you regard as being atheism?

You're one of the few then. I know some Christian folk whose beliefs are also the result of thought, reading and analysis, even if I don't agree with their beliefs or conclusions, I can respect the process they went through to get there. ( C.S. Lewis a case in point).

I'd certainly agree that most people who call themselves Christians haven't had an analytical thought in their lives - but the same can be said of most people, period.

I suppose that was circular. But I don't believe "anything" kicked anything off.
That will always remain a mystery. Maybe things just "happened". Which is actually, I admit, a weakness of the atheistic viewpoint.
However not as weak as creating a supernatural being to explain things we don't understand.
And especially not the myth of the virgin birth and resurrection and other such nonsense.

Ok, I admit no beard is mentioned:

                Revelations 11-13:

                11
And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.
                12
His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.
                13
And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.
So, who believes this bit then? Shall I set up a poll?

Which is why most of them are so willing to blindly believe it all

Please point to the evidence then.
And see my post above. You have suggested the existence of "something". It is incumbent on you to provide evidence for it.
