<cough> the 3 litre engine was an evolution of the 2.6... apparently Rover were unhappy with the concept of siamesed bores at the time, so the 3 litre engine was longer to accomodate the larger bore necessary to reach 3 litres...
I count rivets too.
Neither engine could be described as short stroke, since both were designed with the RAC hp rating in mind...Comment
