Also agree that Isreal are not exactly rushing for a peace deal.- All hundreds of years before Islamic fanaticism reared it's ugly head.
 - Imagine you have a next door neighbour who over 60 years has constantly attacked you and your family, killing and wrecking
 - You see him in his garden shed making Molotov cocktails

You have three choices:
- Wait for him to have a change of heart
 - Wait for somebody he hates, to talk him out of fire bombing you
 - destroy his little Molotov cocktail factory

Which is the safest option ?Confusion is a natural state of beingComment

Well if I had taken his land surely I'd expect him not to be happy .....and try and get it back.
Lets not generalise and say Islamic fanaticism or fundamentalists etc ..... there are 1.3 billion muslims around the world ( +- 20% ) of the world population. Majority of whom live quite peacefully with ppl of all backgorunds. Let me point out just one thing. Islam does not endorce needless violence.
The ones you are harping on about are a small minority.
Same goes for the IRA, and the bad eggs in Spain etc. Every religion will have a small sect of followers who deviate from its original teachings.
The issue here is simple and plain OIL. Most of the countries that have vast reserves ( or claim to have ) are countries in Arabia/Muslim countries. And that includes a war torn Sudan of all places.
Colonisation happened for example in Africa not because we wanted to help build the poor African nations, but because we wanted their natural resources.
So all this Iraq/Afghanistan/Iran/Sudan hoo haa is about one of the most in demand and vital resources needed for our world today to run ..... OIL.
The rest is just a smoke screen.
I could go on for ages about this, but you can only take a horse to the well, you cannot force it to drink the water.

If the mountain won't come to the man, lead the horse to water.

[QUOTE=Diver;584132]Land goes back and forth. Israel should just annex the occupied areas. But that would mean making the Palestinians Israeli's! Unless they ethnically clean the place. They'd rather make life a B**** for the people and have them leave voluntarily. Could take centuries given the Palestinian birth rate.Originally posted by skelm View PostWell if I had taken his land surely I'd expect him not to be happy .....and try and get it back.
