At some point you'll probably realise that it isn't particularly clever or funny to modify a quote. But I don't expect that to happen soon as I know you're a little slow on the uptake.

Totally agree with you. Unfortunately this is Labour clutching at straws to try and secure the voters that have been deserting them in droves. Target here - middle class 20-something female. The Sex and the City voter, Boris’s new best friend.

Why should women have their cake and eat it?

When did the mods say this? Are you sure they are happy with you talking for them?

Whether you agree with it or not, the fact is that given a choice between two equally qualified candidates, one a woman "of child bearing age" and the other a male, an employer will very often view the woman as an unacceptable risk. Potentially having to cover for her maternity, involving hiring cover, while at the same time paying her. Double hit there, plus the disruption, and as Sas pointed out, some roles can't take upheaval.

I think she's getting to you, starting to put in your posts, next you'll be doing

I agree with your original "cake and eat it" point.

I've never understood that, what's the point of having cake if you're not going to eat it? Of course you'd do both.

                      More nonsense

Giving more ammunition for women to go to tribunals and claim 'unfair dismissal'. I guess 90% of cases that go to tribunals do involve women, like for example the one who wanted £ millions claiming that she was unable to work from stress and was negotiating another job at the same time.
