At some point you'll probably realise that it isn't particularly clever or funny to modify a quote. But I don't expect that to happen soon as I know you're a little slow on the uptake.
Hard Brexit now!

Totally agree with you. Unfortunately this is Labour clutching at straws to try and secure the voters that have been deserting them in droves. Target here - middle class 20-something female. The Sex and the City voter, Boris’s new best friend.Originally posted by sasguru View PostWhy is that discrimination? If someone of either gender is likely to have substantial time off over the next 5 years, irrespective of reason, then surely that will affect their ability to do the job?
Why should women have their cake and eat it?"I hope Celtic realise that, if their team is good enough, they will win. If they're not good enough, they'll not win - and they can't look at anybody else, whether it is referees or any other influence." - Walter Smith

When did the mods say this? Are you sure they are happy with you talking for them?Originally posted by Lucy View PostThat is something coming from you, even the mods agree you are the biggest 'squabbler' here.
I am too busy today to argue no-brainers with you.Comment

Whether you agree with it or not, the fact is that given a choice between two equally qualified candidates, one a woman "of child bearing age" and the other a male, an employer will very often view the woman as an unacceptable risk. Potentially having to cover for her maternity, involving hiring cover, while at the same time paying her. Double hit there, plus the disruption, and as Sas pointed out, some roles can't take upheaval.Originally posted by Bagpuss View PostI overheard an HR person telling a colleague "she's of childbearing age, and mid 30s with no kids, so we can strike that one off the list". This was in a large pharma, a couple of years ago. Discrimination is still alive and well.Comment

I've never understood that, what's the point of having cake if you're not going to eat it? Of course you'd do both.

More nonsense
Giving more ammunition for women to go to tribunals and claim 'unfair dismissal'. I guess 90% of cases that go to tribunals do involve women, like for example the one who wanted £ millions claiming that she was unable to work from stress and was negotiating another job at the same time.Comment
