In the sense that most of the time there is an inverse correlation.
I've seen much of the rest of the world. It is brutal and cruel and dark, Rome is the light.

Yes that seems to be pretty much the attitude. Which is why probably around 75% of large UK IT projects fail.
      Hard Brexit now!

I wasn't referring to IT especially, managers in general are usually big blokes.

Unfortunately I did that too and I regret it. If only they offer more money for developer positions I would go back everyday. Well, cleaning up the mess of what you describe as an easy job kept my skills up-to-date so I am ready to jump anytime they will understand this big mistake.

At least in the UK, where management is seen as a status rather than an activity.

If you think Indian/Pakistani cv's are bad try reading a few Nigerian ones. I've never seen one of these guys extended. Thing is, most are found out more or less immediately but are then given the opportunity to ride out the full 6/12 month contract cos the bloke who hired them doesn't want to look like a tit.

There's an interesting thing about some Nigerian cultures, you are actually considered high social-status if you can get money/goods for doing nothing. Results in an warped (to our eyes) work ethic...

You'd think that their initial email about wanting to transfer their client's $45m would be a giveaway.
