Oh and talking about Clint and Nuns, "A Mule for Sister Sarah" - great theme tune and entertaining film.
The Beguiled - yes, probably my favourite Clint Eastwood film. Wounded enemy soldier in a girls boarding school where both the girls and teachers take a fancy to him. Is he a danger to them, or they to him?

It’s the 80th best film of all time according to the public.

Obviously its not your thing, that doesn’t make it bad.

Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave Johnson

When the concept comes from a Disney Ride you can expect the film to be carp. For good J Depp films see:

        Sweeney Todd
        What's eating Gilbert Grape
        From Hell
The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.

But the judge said: “That simply demonstrates your arrogance continues. You are typical. Inmates of prison are people who are dishonest. You are a thoroughly dishonestly man motivated by your own selfish greed.”

The first one wasn't bad. But the second was too muddled, manic, and self-parodying for my taste, although the octopus-faced villain and other special effects were good.

Haven't seen the third, but apparently it's a hopeless mish-mash, dreadful even compared with the second, in the same proportion as that is to the first.

I liked the style of Sin City, an original idea for a film, OK the storyline was limp but what do you expect from a 'comic book'?

P-O-T-C = Lighthearted "Sunday afternon" escapism. After a good lunch an a bottle of wine I don't want to 'think' or 'be challenged', I want to veg and be entertained.

              Or for something different, try
              Planet Terror
              Starship Troopers
              Dark Star

Edit: no mention of American Beauty yet? Superb film
Arrgggh! I can't believe I forgot Dark Star, a classic.

Also on Film 4 about a month ago, but the bastards put it down at 75 minutes so I missed the last 5 off the recording (it's an 80 minute film). Bloody frustrating, I can tell yer
