It really is six of one half dozen of the other. Canada was great, but even I got tired of 30 years of -25 in winter...'course I now miss it. however here its just a plain rip off nevermind I live in the armpit of the UK. Then it comes out that the schools are crap.Originally posted by expat View PostRemember that you may be able to improve your life by living somewhere else in the UK.
At least moving somewhere else:
- you get a bigger house you can actually afford
- you can actually afford to live there
- you know your kids are actually getting an education
- you don't live in a society with a poliferation of CCTV
I'm definitily thinking of getting outta here. Once the wife and I can recover our business startup costs and sell the house we are gone. Either Oz or Canada. And then perhaps the US...Arizona sounds good for retirement.McCoy: "Medical men are trained in logic."

I think its about C$1 a litre..about £0.45. And they are complaining!Originally posted by TimberWolf View PostWhat's the price of petrol in Canada?
(I gather they have huge oil reserves)
They have the oil sands in Alberta which allegedly has more oil than saudi. But its costs a fortune to get at it. 'course now its worth it.McCoy: "Medical men are trained in logic."
