OMG, I've been on my contract for almost a year now, got a bit bored and I thought I'd look at jobserve (haven't looked for ages) OMG it used to return 100's of jobs with my skills, now it only retuned 1 job... what happened?? have I been living on Mars or something?

Yes, it is rather scary.Originally posted by SandyDown View PostOMG, I've been on my contract for almost a year now, got a bit bored and I thought I'd look at jobserve (haven't looked for ages) OMG it used to return 100's of jobs with my skills, now it only retuned 1 job... what happened?? have I been living on Mars or something?
I am currently on the £350-ish mark - contract ending soon. Moving onto a permie post of £45K plus all the so-called perks with the crepe that goes with it. Best contract rates that I can see in my area are the £250 mark.
May as well stick to being a permie the way things are right now!
Even a friend who is a Team Lead on well over the £400 mark level was sniffing around the £250 job! (Which went quick, many more times applicants). -
what skills are you looking at? some areas are holding up well...Originally posted by SandyDown View PostOMG, I've been on my contract for almost a year now, got a bit bored and I thought I'd look at jobserve (haven't looked for ages) OMG it used to return 100's of jobs with my skills, now it only retuned 1 job... what happened?? have I been living on Mars or something?Comment

I knew its getting a bit bad, but didn't realise it was that bad
, I thought it was bad as for newbies / people without extensive experience, or within specific sectors.
OMG, I better start kissing the hell out of my client arse to keep me on... unfortunately just moved roles to a new project and hate the people on that team... wonder if I could sniff to go back to the old project which was put on hold, but now starting again...Comment

Yes, I've used PHEWWW for a couple of years on and off, although it's a bit of a niche skill. But you won't turn up much on Jobserve with that extra "W".Originally posted by SandyDown View PostOK false alarm... when I did the first search I must've made some kind of typom cuz now I searched again, and loads of job ads came up... phewwww ....

Sometimes an extra extra W helps, you know how agents can't spell anythin' correctlyOriginally posted by OwlHoot View PostYes, I've used PHEWWW for a couple of years on and off, although it's a bit of a niche skill. Always a few niches etc in demand and some people who score easily on the end of the current contract. My experience says it is quite tough at the moment !Comment
