These Eastern Europeans are the worse.

They come over here, get jobs without state help, bleed you dry, complain about this and that and then start bossing you about.

    It makes me mad.
If you think my attitude stinks, you should smell my fingers.

Why especially so UK? I'd say especially everybody else, because we at least kept fighting the Nazis, and gave the Free Poles somewhere to fight from, with us. How about "especially the French" because they sold out? How about "especially the Germans"? And how about Russia owes them big, because they opressed them for so long?

She has a degree and a masters, she pays her taxes and bills promptly, has private healthcare as she doesnt trust any state healthcare anywhere, she beat several rounds of other interviewee's to get the job and works a lot harder than others in her position.

Yes she's an immigrant, but what's wrong with her being here and working?
isnt she simply helping to improve the british economy slightly?
She'll soon hot foot it back when she realises that British blokes are such knobheads

After the war they were betrayed by (albeit weak) Western Europe and they effectively became slaves of USSR instead of getting freedom they were fighting for. The West owes them - not just Poland but also Checkz, Slovaks maybe even more so since they were sold to Hitler even before Poland was attacked, at least UK/France supported Poland militarily (albeit it was too late in practical terms due to new tactics of blitzkrieg).
Hear `Hear. and it may well be that one day the UK will become so oppressive and expensive that we will all need jobs in Poland. (where the economy is growing at 5-6% and white collar pay is going up at a rate of 12% a year.

Not five minutes ago I heard one of the phone sales supervisors berating someone and ending with "GAWWWDD BLIMEY your avin a bubble!".

I thought bubble meant Greek, as in bubble and squeek, but obviously it can also mean bubble bath (pron barf)

Used to hear it all the time when I worked in Sarf End. That really is the land that time forgot, retirement home for ex-cockney geezers and geezets.

Ah the south east, that cultural oasis in the desert that is England.

All real 'cock-en-nees' now live in Essex.

I once pulled into a service station in Romford to ask where ‘south road’ was only to be met with a blank look, when I showed the guy the address I was looking for he said "ahh... sarf road" ...different world.

In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave Johnson

I saw it. We are all fooling ourselves.

Ok, there is this "new frankness" about immigration, just numbers, economics etc etc and so many are white from the EU so we can now complain without being labelled racist.

But TBH (the Roma aside) and even taking into account the number of headline crimes associated with EU migrants at the moment are they REALLY the concern? We know darn well that the likes of Poland and Hungary will be catching up with us in a few decades and their culture is not so very different. In the lifetime of many of you lot, there will be contract jobs going in Poland.

I suggest it isn't, the main concern of most is still those from the third world especially Africa and Muslim countries because of backward third world practices and alien creeds. And yes, colour. Ok, colour should not matter but back in reality, given human nature, we know it does. Alliances and divisions are made on this superficial thing and no amount of PC pretence can make it otherwise. In that lies future conflict.

I applaud her effort to integrate, contribute and add a positive affect to the uk economy.

Sadly, I suspect she is the exception to the norm.

A good number of immigrants do not share the same ethic, and work "cash in hand", depriving the economy and at the same time, placing a burden on services. And what money they do make gets sent back home anyway.

Then they get their extended families shipped over and the situation gets worse.

I would suggest that the latter type of immigrants are the ones that need to be targetted, not your gf.
Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.
