Agreed, there's huge amounts of open green space in this country, just most people decide to live on top of one anotherOriginally posted by moorfield View PostTry visiting Scotland or - closer to home - Cambridgeshire. Plenty of quiet open space there.Coffee's for closersComment

Wrong, I'm afraid:Originally posted by shelby68 View Post...it's got nothing to do with race its simple maths, we just don't have the space, schools are over crowded, waiting lists are on the way back up at hospital despite the extra cash, with an extra X' thousand people a year in the country it's no surprise.
1. It's not simple maths, we do have the space. Whether we want the population density that results is another question, but we can (and will) do it.
2. It is simple maths: public services don't work because we don't spend enough on them. Holland is much more crowded than the UK, but it mostly works.
We do pay high enough tax rates, I'd say: the problem is that that does not translate to enough money in the public purse. Our social infrastructure is falling apart because we do not have the money to spend on it. We are suffering the results of not making enough money as a nation, not the results of being overcrowded.
(I am ignoring government incompetence here, though it probably is a factor).
I agree about the place feeling overcrowded: I'm from Scotland and it find most of Scotland too crowded for my taste (and I am NOT referring to English incomers).Comment

We should just kick all foreigners out they are stealing our jobs.

What are the major causes of that?Originally posted by expat View PostWe are suffering the results of not making enough money as a nation, not the results of being overcrowded.
Does the fact that many of the immigrants/migrants regularly send their spare hard-earned income back to their families abroad have a significant impact? Sort of a cash drain.Feist - 1234. One camera, one take, no editing. Superb. How they did it
