I had to search for "Serious Wounding" to find the correct page - there's a 15 page index at the start...Originally posted by realityhack View PostCheers FaQ - you'd think they'd put links in such a large document!

The reason why the London figures are so high is because of all the scousers that live thereOriginally posted by realityhack View PostGood regional summary and table starting from page 123 - showing London at the top of the league (2007):

Bloody tourists! Nothing to do with the locals, it's all to do with the visitors - coming over here, stealing our crimes....Originally posted by Home Office ReportOf all the English regions and Wales, the London region had the highest rate of total recorded crime, at 124 offences per 1,000 population. However, this rate is inflated by the size of the visiting population relative to the resident population.Comment

The region with the least confidence in the Police or CJS is the East Midlands.
Balance the high stats in the City of London with the very small population, see p131 for actual recorded crime figures and you'll see what I mean.Comment

The reason crime is higher in London compared to Liverpool is that Londoners and tourists have something worth nicking.
