I live in the London Borough with the lowest recorded crime per capita, which is nice.

      • London has the highest rate of violent offences at 24 per 1000
Mind you, check the map of the UK with serious wounding crimes in hotspots - is that South Wales and Manchester highlighted? (p115)
If you are jumping to those page numbers directly, they are 127 and 129 in the PDF, although the printed pages are as RH indicates.

Cheers FaQ - you'd think they'd put links in such a large document!

I had to search for "Serious Wounding" to find the correct page - there's a 15 page index at the start...

Good regional summary and table starting from page 123 - showing London at the top of the league (2007):

Per 1000 recorded crime (all types)
            London 124
            Yorkshire and the Humber 114
            North West 110

            England 101
            Wales 87

The reason why the London figures are so high is because of all the scousers that live there

That's not quite how the report phrases it:

Bloody tourists! Nothing to do with the locals, it's all to do with the visitors - coming over here, stealing our crimes....

The region with the least confidence in the Police or CJS is the East Midlands.

Balance the high stats in the City of London with the very small population, see p131 for actual recorded crime figures and you'll see what I mean.

The reason crime is higher in London compared to Liverpool is that Londoners and tourists have something worth nicking.
