Listen, you're a Mancunian, you are brought up to hate the Scousers and vice versa.

Aren't you just guilty of papering over your own inadequacies?

    Oh the humanity!!!

So, per capita, Liverpool has more offences committed than Greater London, some of the worst London Boroughs, Birmingham, Madchester, Newcastle, Middlesborough (but only recently - they're on a par), York (no surprise), Leeds, Bradford, Cardiff, Newport or even Swansea*.

Bristol is a surprise though, at 46.7 per 1000.

But nowhere near City of London - is that top of the league?

Just to put this into perspective, according to the Home Office Report (PDF, p113) on Crime in England and Wales 06-07:
                  • 45% of recorded robbery offences took place in London
                  • London has the highest rate of violent offences at 24 per 1000
Mind you, check the map of the UK with serious wounding crimes in hotspots - is that South Wales and Manchester highlighted? (p115)

South Wales most are self-inflicted, though - surely they don't count?
