Don't all booms have to "end with a recession"? That's how you know they've ended and that it was a boom. Otherwise it's all boo- and no -oom. -
I am feeling very pleased about 2 more months contracting, with a nice secure permie role on not too dis-similar money after.
Mind you, a lot can happen in two months!Comment

You should check your permie contract (if you have one at all) - you can be fired pretty much at any time for anything during "trial" period.
