Indeed. It's only "worth" speeding if you are driving a significant distance, and/or can achieve significantly higher average speeds. I'd guess, however, the most people caught aren't going very far at all.

Agreed, NotallThere.
So my argument is therefore aimed at the Brillos and Dodgys who will no doubt be along in a moment to give a good slapping as to why I'm being a wet liberal here...Comment

I like driving fast.
I like driving fast when and where I want to drive fast.
I don't need a sign to tell me how slow to drive, I'll make that decision.
If I get caught for speeding I'll pay the fine and do the time, end of.
It's called taking responsibility for ones actions.Last edited by Churchill; 14 July 2008, 09:58.Comment

How many times have I been prosecuted for speeding? Zero
How many times have I been stopped for speeding? More than once.Comment

Ohhhhh no.
Just because I don't bleat like a little girl and get all emotive about little kiddies being hit at 40mph instead of 30?
I drive at a speed that I feel is safe. That may or may not be over or under the posted limit.

I take as many class A drugs as I like - who is the government to tell me what is safe?
