True, it does not reflect the PCG as it is now - it is not a dodgy organisation.

However - it is interesting, so not utterly pointless at all.

My membership is up for renewal but I don't think I'll bother with the PCGPlus level again - the PAYE Audit stuff shouldn't be a problem if you use a decent accountant and the Jury Service stuff you can either remove yourself from the electoral roll or just ignore the summons if it ever arrives.

          Same here. Great work, Sal!

I am a PCGPlus member and it really is a very small price to pay for the insurance, benefits and access to a support network. I called the PCG office only yesterday with a query following a letter from my agency and Kevin straightened it all out for me in about 30 seconds. Perfect.

Has anyone been investigated by HMRC and sought the services of PCG/Insurance they provide? What was your experience?

I used to be a member of the PCG, and if I lived in the UK, I'd definitely be a member. However, as I have no intention of returning to those hallowed shores, it's highly unlikely I'll ever rejoin. Still got my membership card though.

Who here is a member? And who wouldn't bother? (And who is like me, and thinking of joining?) (I'll do a poll).
The only time I would consider joining, is when the PCG become the equivalent of the Royal Society of Chartered Surveyors. with true political clout to elevate the IT profession, protect the workforce, etc.

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

As someone that plays computer games during the majority of their existence you should fit in perfectly.

About 1454 people. All bar 5 of them have won the case, so I guess they had a positive experience. Of the 5 who lost, 3 were potentially winnable had they been run today, and one is going to appeal. S o iguess there's one unhappy person out there somewhere...
